Let’s be honest… If you’ve been in the online dating world for more than 5 minutes, you know it can be rough. We’re so caught up in endless swiping, filtered photos, and "perfect" bios, that it’s easy to lose sight of who we really are in the online dating game.
​
And frankly, my inner 65 year old self cringes at the thought of trying to come up with another witty joke to describe myself in 150 characters or less... 🙄😂 I know this site may decrease my "dating pool", but honestly, I'm only looking for one gal. If God sees fit to connect me with "the one" through a personal website, why not give it a try? 🙃

So… I’ll just start by saying I'm not your typical "cool" guy. You will quickly discover that:

I’m not great with crafty pick-up lines;

I’m not up on the latest fashions (I’m either dressed up for the courtroom or I’m in grease stained work clothes for the farm).

I’m not particularly photogenic (I take exactly one picture every year because my mom insists that all of her kids get updated pictures to hang on her wall for her Christmas present 🙄😂);

And let's face it... Being the fun one in the family is a lot of weight to bear, and my hairline has taken a hit because of it. (I'm convinced God thought I was coming too close to a real life Hallmark movie plot and had to throw a wrench into my life to derail that possibility... 😂).

If you're looking for one of those suave, refined guys, that's perfectly understandable. (Ryan Reynolds and Brad Pitt are famous for a reason...) I totally get it. I’m just not the Hollywood or Instagram influencer type.

What I am is a simple farm kid from Kansas. As Superman himself said: "I'm about as American as it gets." 🙃

I run a private legal practice in my rural hometown;

I spend most of my free time working on the farm that’s been in my family since 1888 (it’s truly one of the most thrilling and relaxing things for me);

I love to build and tinker on homes, tractors, and implements (I may not be on the cover of GQ any time soon, but I can help you finish those pesky house projects that you’ve been putting off);

I'm a washed up college distance runner who still likes to go on long runs whenever possible;

I love to learn through podcasts, books, and deep conversations;

I firmly believe that it’s the little moments- the inside jokes, the deep conversations, sharing life’s adventures and struggles- that make life the incredible, God given adventure that it is.

Most importantly, I'm a sinner saved by God's incredible mercy and grace. It’s absolutely mind-blowing that the God of the universe loves us so much that he sent his son to die on the cross to save each of us from our sins by grace through faith. If that's not enough, he desires a personal relationship with each of us!

I’m far from perfect, and I fall short of who I’d like to be far too often. I’m thankful that eternity rests on God’s grace, rather than my own works. My prayer is that God would continue to make me more like him each day through community and time in the word.

I’ve been blessed with an amazing family, a great community, a good job, and the family farm. I’m just looking for a gal to join me in the journey! Someone who genuinely loves Jesus and serving others … Someone who sees life as an incredible opportunity to learn and experience new things… Someone who isn't focused on the nicest car or biggest house, but instead wants to stay active and grow and build; a family, a community, a homestead, and a legacy…
I’m ultimately looking for a best friend to laugh and have inside jokes with. Someone who is willing to stand her ground and continually push me to be a better person. Someone who doesn’t just want to watch from the sidelines, but is willing to jump in and join me on this messy adventure of life.
